The Riverina has developed into a hive of activity for tourism, with statistics from the 2011/12 Financial Year revealing that the region is experiencing almost 1.5 million day visitors and a further 800,000 choosing to spend at least one night, a total of 2.3 million visitors annually.

Wagga Wagga is the central hub for many visitors to the region, with over 40% of overnight visitors to the Riverina choosing to spend that night in the City.

Considering these figures, the tourism sector is a strong performer within the Wagga Wagga economy and in a broader sense the Riverina's economy. Therefore there exist many opportunities for those looking to take advantage, indeed on average an overnight domestic visitor to the City will spend $180 per night.
