Federal Government Resources

Business.gov au is a gateway to information, transactions and services to assist business people in their dealings with all levels of Australian government. Planning, starting and operating a business, registration, taxation, e-commerce, occupational health and safety, finance and legal issues, and managing staff are examples of what be found through business.gov.au. It also provides you with services such as ABN Look up to search for publicly available ABN details, and Transaction Manager for finding and managing government forms.

ABN Lookup

ABN Lookup provides access to the publicly available information provided by businesses when they register for an Australian Business Number (ABN). This page also has a link to the Australian Business Register where you can register for an ABN. www.abr.business.gov.au

AusTender - Australian Government Tender System

The Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) is progressively implementing this system across Australian Government agencies. Users will be able to find business opportunities that are upcoming, current and closed, for those agencies that use the system. By registering your area of interest in your profile, you will receive free automatic notification via email of the latest tenders for these agencies. Visit the Austender site to find out more.

Applying for an Australian Business Number

The Australian Business Register (ABR) Online is a publicly available, online database that contains some of the information that is provided by businesses when they register for an Australian Business Number (ABN). Apply for, search and change details of Australian Business Numbers through the Australian Business Register. http://www.abr.business.gov.au

Australian Taxation Office

The Australian Taxation Office offer a comprehensive webpage for businesses. Provides links to tax information for new and existing businesses. Links to resources and services for businesses and key tax information. The ATO also publish a monthly newsletter offering help for small business across a wide range of issues. The support that is offered in the newsletter is a relevant and current update of changes that might effect your small business such as tax law, legislation and compliance.

Search ASIC's Company Database and Registers
