2009 GALA DINNER

 

The annual 2009 Gala Business Dinner was held on the 24th of September at The Garden Court Restaurant in the Botanical Gardens, Wagga Wagga. Hosted by Wagga Wagga City Council, TAFE NSW Riverina Institute and Charles Sturt University, the theme to this years event was 'Building  Business with Research'.

Over 75 local business representatives were in attendance on the evening and took the night as an opportunity to network and discuss the challenges and triumphs of 2009.

Guest speaker for the evening was newly appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) Professor Sue Thomas. Providing an insight into her experiences and challenges with regard to sourcing research funding. Prof. Thomas provided the audience with strategies local businesses could use to assist in increasing their business performance through research and available funding.

All three hosts of the evening took time to update guests on their organisation's progress and projects over 2009 and thanked guests for all their support over the years.

The event was proven to be another great night as previous years have shown and the hosts and guests look forward to the next Gala Business Dinner in 2010.
