Business confidence in New South Wales strengthened in the third quarter of 2015 amid improvements in sales revenue and profits, and a renewed prospect for meaningful reform at the federal level, according to the NSW Business Chamber's latest Business Conditions Survey.

"More than 850 businesses completed our September Business Conditions Survey, which showed a marked improvement in business confidence in NSW and a level of optimism about the upcoming Christmas trading period that we have not seen for several years," said NSW Business Chamber Chief Executive, Stephen Cartwright. "The number of businesses that expect the state's economic performance to strengthen in the next three months increased significantly, echoing the uptick in business confidence following the recent federal leadership changes.

"Our survey of businesses showed improvement in business confidence in the region and a heightened level of optimism about the upcoming Christmas trading period that we have not seen for several years," said Murray-Riverina NSW Business Chamber Regional Manager, Ben Foley.
